In the current economic climate no company can afford to have people within it that are not performing to a high standard. And certainly no business can retain people who damage the performance of others and the business as a whole.

It is important to recognise that the cause of poor performance may be triggered from issues within the business or from outside, or indeed both.

People are generally more honest when talking to an experienced stranger rather than colleagues with whom they have a close or professional relationship. Fear of loss of respect, or worries about breeches in confidentiality, can hinder resolution of an easily solvable problem and it is therefore often better for an outside party to help deal with issues that disturb working performance.

Stephen Bates has been working with companies for 10 years addressing both individual and team behavioural and performance issues. He has worked across a broad spectrum of industry sectors and at different levels of organisations to deliver fast but meaningful change.


Stephen’s knowledge and understanding of people and how to work with them to achieve change comes from 20 years working in the fields of physiotherapy, nlp and personal change. Stephen is an HPC registered Physiotherapist and Certified Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
