Whatever your problem, be it 30 years of depression, panic attacks, stress or a lack of self esteem and confidence, a face to face, one-to-one session will help you deal with your problem quickly and effectively so you can get on with happily living your life.



 

What is the Personal Change Day?

A face to face meeting over the course of a day to help you resolve your issues and move swiftly forward to a brighter, more positive future.

 

Why would I want to spend a day talking about my emotional problems?

A one-to-one session is an intensive change process focused on  you and resolution of your problem.  It will help you move on where you have previously failed to do so by shifting damaging behaviours, health issues or unwanted feelings.


How will the session help me resolve emotional issues?

All behaviours, even the damaging ones that create poor self esteem, loss of confidence and every other uncomfortable emotion, are always motivated by a positive intention. The one-to-one session will show you what the positive intention is behind your behaviour/ problem and then guide you through the process of how to change that behaviour to something more positive and productive.

 

Better behaviour

The 'Personal Change Day' has achieved exactly what I hoped it would. It has broken through my old, out-of-control behaviour patterns which were at best unhelpful and at worst self-destructive. I now find myself meeting no internal resistance when I make more appropriate behavioural choices. Altogether I feel more in control of my emotions, more balanced, relaxed and far more able to take life in my stride. My future looks like a lot of fun instead of an endurance test! BW


How does the day work?

It is a face to face, one to one session with Stephen Bates over the course of a maximum of 8 hours in a single day, although 4-6 hours is the average time needed. After an initial conversation with Stephen to discuss your problem and what you want to achieve, you will complete and return a questionnaire. During the day itself the process involves finding out why you do what you do and what has prevented you from moving on. Stephen then uses appropriate techniques to help you resolve the issue and establish the new behaviours you want to put in place.

A fast solution to long term depression

A friend introduced me to Stephen 5 years ago. I haven't looked back.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression and had a nervous breakdown. I had been dealing with my problems since 1997 and was signed off from work for 5 years. Every day was a total struggle. The first and last thing I thought about on a daily basis was topping myself, despite being on a seriously heavy dosage of anti depressants.

I had had cognitive therapy which always seemed patronising, sitting in a circle re-iterating why I was feeling down. I had seen a few other therapists too and considered different types, including jungian therapy, but chose to see Stephen instead (one session sounded more appealing than once a week for 4 years analysing my dreams!).

When Stephen said I could be 'fixed' by next week if I wanted to and that we could start straight away, I realised this was going to be different to any of my previous therapy experiences.

The reason I liked the NLP approach was the constant positivity. 'Ok, you feel like this but what are you going to do about it?' It's about moving you away from your problem whilst other therapies seemed to keep me in there.

Since then I have been back to work, in a relationship, set up my own business and followed my dreams. In fact, I'm getting better and better every day.

I did one to one work with Stephen and decided to do the NLP Practitioner course to learn the tools for myself. Life still happens but I know I'm never going back to how I used to be. In a nutshell, I wouldn't be here if I hadn't discovered Stephen and NLP. AG
